CAMO’s procurement and distribution system is the backbone behind every area of our work. Donated supplies and equipment are carefully evaluated, prepared, tracked, shipped, maintained, and placed according to identified needs. This disciplined process allows one donation to become patient care, professional training, stronger institutions, and greater independence—while reducing waste and stretching every donor dollar further. In 2025–26 alone, CAMO shipped 8,606 boxes of supplies and 406 pieces of equipment to organizations across 11 departments of Honduras

Medical Supply Donations
Every treatment depends on having the right supplies at the right time. CAMO receives usable medical, surgical, dental, respiratory, and other healthcare supplies that may otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable in Honduras. Volunteers inspect, sort, inventory, and prepare donations so they can be directed where documented needs exist.

Equipment Donations
CAMO does not ship equipment simply because it is available. Equipment is evaluated for usefulness, condition, serviceability, and the ability to support it in Honduras. Donated incubators, monitors, ultrasound systems, defibrillators, surgical equipment, and other technologies help hospitals expand and improve services.

Shipping & Logistics
Getting a donation from a U.S. warehouse to a patient in Honduras requires far more than shipping a box. Every item must be received, cleaned, documented, packed, transported, cleared, unloaded, stored, and distributed. About every six weeks, CAMO sends another container to Honduras. Seven recent containers delivered more than $2.4 million in medical aid to 73 organizations.

Biomedical Department
Medical equipment saves lives only when it works. CAMO’s biomedical professionals inspect, install, repair, and maintain equipment while strengthening local technical expertise. In one early counterpart effort, 93 pieces of equipment with an estimated replacement value of $975,000 were restored to service. More recently, the biomedical team completed 608 preventive and corrective work orders in one fiscal year.

Repairing equipment protects donor investment, reduces costly replacement, and keeps lifesaving technology available to patients.
Maintenance Department
Sustainability means caring for what has already been built. CAMO’s Maintenance Department protects healthcare and community facilities through preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements to roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, and other critical infrastructure. Recent work strengthened the Public Health Center and Domestic Violence Shelter—facilities serving people every day.

Maintaining facilities protects decades of donor investment and ensures that the buildings CAMO helped create remain safe, functional, and useful for future generations
Recycling Programs
CAMO works to ensure that useful donations do not become waste. Supplies unsuitable for shipment to Honduras are redirected to U.S. nursing programs, clinics, animal-care organizations, community agencies, and individuals who can use them before they expire. Students gain materials for clinical training while local organizations receive resources they might otherwise need to purchase.
IMPACT
Responsible redistribution extends the life of every donation—reducing waste while helping communities both in Honduras and here at home.
