CAMO is setting a new standard for health care professionals in Honduras. When CAMO establishes a service, improves a facility or installs new equipment, education and training are always part of the process. CAMO is the sole National Training Center for the American Heart Association in Honduras and is the country’s leading provider of health and safety courses. Each year, more than 1105 Honduran professionals participate in CAMO-facilitated training and education programs.

CAMO strengthens healthcare by investing in the professionals who remain in Honduras. Through CPR, emergency care, nursing protocols, ultrasound, specialty training, and long-term counterpart relationships, knowledge stays in the country and continues saving lives

Literacy Programs
For children in rural Honduras, learning can be limited by far more than a lack of books. CAMO combines textbooks, reading activities, teacher support, and vision, hearing, dental, and nutrition screenings.

Trade Schools
A marketable skill can change the direction of a life. CAMO’s partner Trade School prepares students for employment, entrepreneurship, and greater economic independence through hands-on technical education. The construction of the adjacent women’s shelter by way of an adjoining door also allows recovering women to access trade courses as well. Such education empowers women to support themselves, strengthening them to escape their situations of domestic violence
