Building Hope: New Community Health Center in Honduras

For seven years, this dream lived in conversations, planning meetings, and the unwavering hope of an entire community.

Now, it is becoming reality.

CAMO has officially begun construction of a new Community Health Center in Subirana, Honduras. As the first concrete blocks were laid, they marked more than the start of a building—they represented a promise fulfilled for more than 15,000 people living in one of Honduras’ most remote mountain regions.

For everyone who has donated, volunteered, prayed, or supported CAMO, this milestone belongs to you.

Expanding Healthcare Access in Rural Honduras

Located nearly six hours from CAMO’s headquarters, Subirana is one of 30 rural communities that depend on this health center for medical care.

For years, families have received healthcare in overcrowded and inadequate conditions. The new facility will change that by providing three medical exam rooms, a dental clinic, vaccination services, triage, medical records, sanitation facilities, and modern medical equipment designed to deliver safer, more dignified care.

A Vision That Started in 2019

This project began long before construction.

In 2019, CAMO’s technical team worked with community leaders to identify the area’s greatest healthcare needs. With the generous support of the Foltz and Cox families, that vision grew into a long-term partnership involving local leaders, health committees, the Municipality of Yoro, and the people of Subirana.

The groundbreaking ceremony celebrated not only a new building, but years of collaboration and shared commitment.

Every Gift Helped Build This Foundation

These first blocks represent much more than concrete.

They represent years of generosity from donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and supporters who believed every family deserves access to quality healthcare.

Because of that generosity, thousands of children, parents, and older adults will soon receive care in a facility built to serve them with dignity.

This project is about more than constructing a health center. It is about strengthening an entire region, improving access to healthcare, and creating healthier communities for generations to come.

Thank you for making this possible.

Together, we are building hope in Honduras.
